Allison Miller photoThere are many challenges we face throughout life and I aim to create a safe, supportive space to process and find solutions for them together. My goal is to help couples and individuals strengthen their relationships and achieve long lasting changes.

I take an integrated approach, drawing from my training in Gottman Couples Therapy, sex therapy, Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, psychodynamic psychotherapy, and relational approaches. I also incorporate methods from Acceptance and Commitment Therapy and mindfulness.

My clinical experience includes providing couples counseling, individual therapy, and group therapy in private practice settings, outpatient medical settings, and college counseling centers.

I’m a Licensed Psychology Associate in the District of Columbia. I earned a doctorate (PsyD) in Clinical Psychology from the American School of Professional Psychology (APA accredited) in Virginia. My doctoral dissertation investigated effective treatment for anxiety disorders. I hold a Master’s degree in Clinical Psychology from the same program, and earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology and a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from Arizona State University. I work under the supervision of Ellen Connell, PsyD.

I have advanced clinical training in Gottman Couples Therapy, sex therapy, and Interactive Mindfulness.
